Broadmeadows man arrested for alleged racial abuse and assault on Melbourne train

A 20-year-old Broadmeadows man has been arrested over an alleged racial abuse incident and assault on a Melbourne train. Three woman got on a train at Melbourne Central station heading for Craigieburn on May 15 and were racially abused by two men sitting near them.

The women got off the train at North
Melbourne. Another passenger, a 37-year-old Ringwood man, spoke to the men about their behaviour and was allegedly assaulted, a police statement said. The victim, who suffered minor facial injuries,
got off the train and reported the matter to police. Victoria Police said the Broadmeadows man was arrested this morning and is expected to be charged with assault-related offences.
